CPM (Cost per Mille) calculates the cost per 1,000 ad impressions across all currencies (USD, EUR, GBP): CPM = (Spend / Impressions) * 1,000. Alternatively, expected budget calculates as Spend = (Impressions / 1,000) * CPM, and required reach as Impressions = (Spend / CPM) * 1,000.
IAB banner sizes and file weight guide
Upload a creative, pick a preset size or enter custom dimensions, choose a maximum file weight and download the result. Your image is never uploaded to a server.
Common IAB display sizes
The most used sizes are 300x250 (medium rectangle), 728x90 (leaderboard), 160x600 (wide skyscraper), 300x600 (half page), 320x50 (mobile leaderboard), 970x250 (billboard) and 320x100 (large mobile banner). Covering the first five reaches most programmatic inventory.
Keeping files light
Ad servers and networks often cap static banners at around 150 KB, and heavy creatives slow pages and may be rejected. Use JPG for photos and PNG for flat graphics and text. Check each platform's current specifications before you upload, because requirements change.
Tips for sharper banners
Keep one message and one call to action. Make sure text stays readable at the smallest size, leave safe margins so nothing is cropped, and design the largest format first, then adapt.
